Story written by Kristopher Hall
Thipyarat was born to an impoverished family. Her mother stays at home to take care of her and her father does sewing and alterations, but work has been slow and he is only able to make around 3,000 baht per month to support his family. When she was born with a cleft, there was almost no hope that she would ever be able to get the operation she needed to give her a normal life.
Her life changed on the day that her family saw a big Operation Smile banner hanging in their community promoting the Sisaket Hospital mission. The family spent 500 baht, most of their monthly allowance, to travel to the mission in hope of getting a chance at a new life for their daughter. They were so thankful to be given the free surgery and they want to thank Operation Smile for providing a future for their daughter that was out of their reach.
